Epiphyllum The Goody Bag

As a real goody bag this is a real surprise as it is a very small growing compact plant. The flowers are not large but it flowers with many so this is really a goody bag you fell in love with and want to have it.

Also a hybrid from Frank Süpplie, the epimaster from the Netherlands. ´Selection of the parents are very important´ according to Frank. ´As it takes up to 10 years before a seedling is flowering for the first time you must be very critical in pollinating´.  

´It is important that you have some botanical knowledge to grow new hybrids´ says Frank. ´Then the results are what you want, and you do not get disappointments. In the meanwhile there are many new hybrids registered which should not be registered at all. If you can register a plain redorange one, why should I register the hybrids then. There is no benefit for that then´. I am the most critical hybridiser as we have plenty of seedlings. In total we made more then a million plants until today but just a few are considered worth to be named.

This is a beautiful new hybrid, first introduced in May 2017. It has small perfect flowers which are 7/10cm in diameter. The plant is very compact and the branches are at Epric only 20-25m long Lovely hybrid, just for the people who do not have so much place at their greenhouse or windowsill.
