Epiphyllum ‘Helmut Kohl’

One of the newest hybrids from our head gardener Frank Supplie. It is named to the old chancellor of Germany who passed away on the 16^th of June 2017.

The flowers are dark-red and about 15cm in diameter.

The parentage of this hybrid is Dracula x King Midas. Both are hybrids from CactusPete. Dracula was created in 1946, and King Midas was supposed created in 1939, the last hybrid looks nearly the same as Curt Knebels Sonnenuntergang from 1935.

It is in honour of the old chancellor of Germany who was a fore fighter of the European Union, and without him Germany would be still two states.
