Epiphyllum ‘Frank’s Hot Pants’

One of the newest hybrids from our head gardener Frank Supplie he is known for his extra ordinary name choice of the plants he has created.

Frank’s Hot Pants is a cross between the Epiphyllum hybrid King Midas x Royal Rose. King Midas is a hybrid named by Cactuyspete in 1939 and is probably the same as the hybrid Sonnenuntergang from Curt Knebel(1935). The differences are extremely small. The other parent partner, Royal Rose, is a Theresa MonMonnier hybrid from 1941. Both are not very often used to get a new hybrid selection.

Frank’s Hot Pants has a basket type of growth. The branches can be long and have no spines. The flowers are about 20cm in diameter.
